Like many of you I signed up with the local Tea Party many years ago. I will also admit that I have not been active in their program. I am a very disillusioned Republican who realizes his party has lost it’s way. Now I fear the Tea Party, like the Democrats and Republicans, is starting to drift away from their political focus. Over the weekend I read two articles, supposedly quoting a Tea Party unit in Texas. This group was suggesting that gays should receive therapy to cure them from this terrible affliction. I am the father of a gay child who has admitted that she realized she was gay before she entered high school. I’ve got news for the Tea Party folks in Texas, no amount of therapy is likely going to change a gay to straight. Personally, I was offended by these articles and the Tea Party. Now it seems the Tea Party is also heading in a direction that I can not and will not support. My daughter may be gay but everyday she puts her life on the line to protect American citizens. She just saved a three year old little girl from being kidnapped by a sexual predatory. Her effort put her in to the hospital and she is facing months of physical therapy before she can go back to work. I am very proud of my daughter and would not change her for the world. I very much resent the Tea Party expounding on something they likely know very little about and that is being gay in our society.

Tues. 01-21-2014: The CVTP evening meeting discussed general California water infrastructure & issues…lead by Brandon (Westlands farmer). Next week he will be discussing the “fish court rulings”, and we will be discussing what if any position (and/or action) the CVTP will take regarding water issues. Some California water issues information links I found:

Is this intended for California only, or are these issues being addressed nationwide within the Tea Party? Hopefully, the latter.
