The Auberry Chapter of the Central Valley Tea Party meets the third Wednesday of each month at the Pizza Factory, 29424 Auberry Rd, Prather from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Our next meeting is February 20 in which Jared Gordonwill talk about Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution: the Nature and History of the Commerce Clause. He will broadly cover:The content and early history of the Commerce Clause; The New Deal and post-New Deal period precedents; New Federalism and current Commerce Clause interpretations and The Commerce Clause and Obamacare. Jared is our Media coordinator with the Central Valley Tea Party.A native of Fresno, he graduated from Edison High School. He left Fresno to attend Claremont McKenna College, where he graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Government and in Legal Studies. During college, Mr. Gordon interned at various times for Councilmember Briggs, Congressman Radanovich, the House Republican Conference, and the City Manager of Fresno. Following graduation, he worked for Yankelovich as a public opinion researcher, which included extensive work on the TIME/CNN poll. Mr. Gordon left public opinion research to attend the UCLA School of Law, graduating in 2003. He began his legal career at McCormick Barstow, where his practice focused on professional liability defense. He then became Corporate Counsel for Hydra, an online marketing company. After Hydra was sold, Mr. Gordon became General Counsel for Meteor Games, an online social games company. He currently has his own law practice, providing legal advice to small and mid-sized businesses on contracts, online advertising, intellectual property, and employment law. He is a graduate of the Chamber’s Leadership Fresno program and the San Joaquin Political Academy. In 2011, Fresno City Councilmember Westerlund appointed Mr. Gordon to the City of Fresno Charter Review Committee.Mr. Gordon currently lives in Northwest Fresno with his wife, two young daughters, and a cat, to which he is unfortunately allergic. Those interested in our Tea Party may be Democrat, Republican, Independent or political novices who agree with our three core values of Constitutionally Limited Government, Fiscal Responsibility and Free Market Principals, consistent with Individual Freedom.
