The Auberry Chapter of the Central Valley Tea Party will meet the third Wednesday of each month at the Pizza Factory, 29424 Auberry Rd, Prather from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. June 20 is our next meeting in which the Mariposa Tea Party coordinator Ronika Johnson will be our guest. Ronika traveled to Wisconsin May 20 to June 6 to train and take part in the National Tea Party effort to defeat the Governor Scott Walker recall election. Democrats and unions had been angered after Walker and the GOP-led Legislature took on public-sector union rights last year. Governor Walker, Lt. Gov Rebecca Kleefisch and 4 Senators were recalled. All recalls were defeated except one Senator who came from Racine which is a strong liberal district. 43% of Wisconsin Union members supported Gov. Walker and the state enjoyed over 60% voter turnout in this highly contentious issue with national recognition. Ronika will relate her many adventures, some funny, some dangerous, while walking house-to-house in many cities throughout Wisconsin. Ronika has become quite the hero among local active Tea Party members and with National attention too. There is a new Tea Party sign celebrating the victory in Wisconsin placed at Rt. 168 & Auberry Rd. which is one of 8 in the Central Valley.
We will also have a petition to stop SB 48. In January, California Governor Jerry Brown signed SB 48 into law. Under SB 48 schools are required to add instruction about LGBTransexual individuals. SB 48 mandates this provocative material for California students in all grades from K-12.
Those interested in our Tea Party may be Democrat, Republican, Independent or political novices who agree with our three core values of Constitutionally Limited Government, Fiscal Responsibility and Free Market Principals, consistent with Individual Freedom. We discuss legislation and candidates on a local, State and Federal level. Anyone interested may attend. Contact Ron or Amanda Arteno at 855-8552 for info.
